If you were one of the many people who
were aghast at the death of e-Pro Magazine, this
article from the New York Times
(registration required) may help to explain it. e-Pro was not only a business
publication (b2b publishing) but was also in the technology sector, and
in a technology sector that was going through additional turmoil when IBM's
message was unclear about what the future of Notes/Domino would be. When
there's that much turmoil, the readers may still be there, but the
advertisers (that is, business partners) are not.
That said, I still believe that the
Notes industry has places left to go, so I'm not gone yet. Look for a new
post soon telling you my plans for the future...
